What to do in Valencia in July 2026: the Feria de Julio and everything else

Concerts at Viveros, fireworks, the Batalla de Flores, beaches and open-air cinema: your month's agenda, between the Gran Fira and a Valencian summer.
What to do in Valencia in July 2026: the Feria de Julio and everything else

July is Valencia's big month: the city goes up in flames (literally) with the Gran Feria de Julio, and summer is in full swing between beaches, terraces and concerts. Here's plenty to fill your month, and with this article we're kicking off a recurring feature: the month's agenda.

The Gran Feria de Julio, the heart of the month

The 155th edition runs all through July, with around 300 events, the vast majority free, spread across some fifteen neighbourhoods. The highlights to note:

  • 1 July: the opening show "Or, xata!" on the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, reviving Valencia's Belle Époque with 65 live musicians.
  • Gran Nit de Juliol (mid-July): the busiest evening, with dozens of free night-time shows in the centre.
  • Batalla de Flores (last Sunday, 26 July) on the Paseo de la Alameda: flower-decked carriages and a battle of carnations, the Feria's traditional closing.

The Turia funfair

Right in the middle of the Feria, the old riverbed, the Jardines del Turia, turns into a huge open-air funfair: the Feria de Atracciones de Verano (summer funfair). It sets up on tramo IX, between the Puente de las Flores (bridge of flowers) and the Puente de la Exposición, a short walk from the City of Arts and the Alameda.

  • When: from 23 June to 8 August 2026.
  • Hours: Monday to Thursday 6:30 pm to 1 am, Friday and Saturday 6:30 pm to 2 am.
  • Prices: around 3.50 to 6 euros per ride.
  • What you will find: bumper cars, trampolines, bouncy castles and little water boats for the youngest; the Pulpo, the Viking Boat, 6D simulators or the Tekno Canguro for thrill-seekers. All around, food stalls (churros, burgers, candy floss, toffee apples), tombolas and games of skill.
  • Getting there: metro L3, L5, L7; bus 31, 32, 71, 81.

Great with kids, in the early evening once the heat eases off.

The Viveros concerts

The Feria's musical backbone: 18 nights of concerts in the Viveros gardens, from 2 to 25 July, with headliners like Deep Purple, Garbage, UB40 and Ana Torroja. Tickets from around €25 on the official box office.

The fireworks, free. A July tradition: fireworks every Saturday night at various points around the city, and a grand pyrotechnic finale on 26 and 27 July (including one on the Paseo Marítimo). Get there early, it draws a crowd.

Proper summer

  • Beaches: La Malvarrosa and El Cabanyal in the city, El Saler and Pinedo further south for nature.
  • Open-air municipal pools and outdoor cinema (La Rambleta, free screenings on the beaches).
  • Exhibitions: "Radix" by Tania Candiani at the IVAM (until September); last chance for the immersive Titanic exhibition at Bombas Gens (until 4 July).
  • With kids: the Oceanogràfic, the Bioparc, the Gulliver park (free), early morning or late afternoon to dodge the heat.

Surviving the heat

July in Valencia is hot, including at night. Schedule your outings early in the morning or after 6pm, stay hydrated, hide from the sun between noon and 5pm, and make the most of the night-time options (concerts, air-conditioned museums, beaches).
